Istanbul was the European Capital of Culture in 2010 and Istanbulers are surrounded by art in every corner. In this Istanbul art tour, you will follow the trace of modern arts in the city. Our first stop is Sakip Sabancı Museum, where an Ottoman calligraphy collection is on display as well as periodic international exhibitions. We then continue to the Istanbul Museum of Modern Arts, where you can visit the ongoing exhibitions sampling modern and contemporary art and enjoy a coffee in it’s café with a nice view of Bosphorus. Our last museum visit today is Santral Istanbul, where hosts the only industrial archaeology museum in town. For the rest of the day, we will be on the streets. Taking a walk down the Istiklal Street of Taksim, we will head to Cukurcuma, the hip bohemian area of town where we will walk through design shops, vintage boutiques, antique dealers, and art galleries.
